The Texas Speed & Performance L83TR-4 camshaft is a great choice for the enthusiast looking for maximum horsepower from their 5.3L. It will have a lopey idle and will drive best with a higher stall speed . It does not retain the factory AFM/DOD functionality that deactivates cylinders, so a DOD/AFM delete kit will be needed. We recommend that the VVT be locked out by means of a phaser lockout kit for all of our TSP LT camshafts. We do recommend using our TSP .660" dual spring kit with PAC springs & titanium retainers and TSP hardened chromoly pushrods with this camshaft.
